Brophy claims timely century for Yorkshire
Article posted 06-Jul-2010

Gerard Brophy has claimed his second championship century for Yorkshire to put them in charge of their Headingley encounter with Warwickshire.

The 33-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman hit a determined 103, which included 15 fours, to help Yorkshire reach 425 in the first innings of their championship match at Headingley.

It was Brophy’s first championship century since scoring an unbeaten hundred against Hampshire in 2007 and helped Yorkshire keep the pressure on the leaders as they make a chase for the championship title.

Brophy has begun consultancy work with International Sports Management in the past year as he prepares for life beyond cricket.
