England tomorrow find themselves in one of their most important Test matches for an awful long time. Such has been the fall out, mainly in the written press from last weeks disastrous performance that these next five days could define certainly the structure of the management team for the next 12 months or so, and also I would imagine there would be a number of players sweating like mad on selection for tomorrow's game.
Just how much tinkering Strauss and Flower do with the team will be very interesting to find out. I think the clamber for Owais Shah to come into to the team might be too much for them to ignore this time, with Ian Bell the obvious candidate to make way,
although one or two of the scribes were also mentioning Alastair Cook's recent form and having a right hand, left hand combination at the top of the order.
James Anderson was unlucky to miss out on the first game and it will be interesting to see if they can find a spot for him on a ground where last year Brett Lee got the ball to reverse quite a lot, this may well work in Anderson's favour this time around.
Whichever 11 take the field, it will be a monumental effort that is needed in order to reverse the trend of the last days cricket in Jamaica. England need to play somewhere near the best of their abilities otherwise the West Indies who will be massively boyd from the first Test win could well do it again. Let's hope England rise to the big occasion.
